Stencil artist E.L.K - AKA Luke Cornish, has entered the Archibald Prize with a stencilled portrait of controversial but popular Catholic priest Father Maguire. The artist says of his inspiration:
He reminds me a lot of my grandpa so it just seemed fitting to paint a portrait of him.
As is par for the course for the annual lead up to the Prize, loud and ongoing protests are sure to follow, as stencil art is not recognised as a primary medium for portraiture.
